The Capital Development Authority is proposing to build an Economic Zone in the vicinity of Rawat.

ISLAMABAD: The proposal to grant a no-objection certificate (NOC) to the Board of Investment and the Special Economic Zone Authority to build an economic zone adjacent to Rawat will be discussed by the Capital Development Authority board.

The BOI and SEZA asked the CDA to select a location for the establishment of a Special Economic Zone.

The BOI was able to get in touch with the land acquisition collector to buy the property since the CDA had already allocated 1,000 acres close to Rawat Industrial Estate for the construction of the ICT Model Special Economic Zone.

Additionally, it stated that the SEZA had approved the concept plan in March 2022 and that the PC-I had received approval from the Central Development Working Party for the feasibility study and land purchase. As a result, the SEZA had been in touch with CDA over the NOC issue.

In Rawalpindi, near to Zone-5, another project called Rawat Industrial Estate has also been constructed.
