In order to settle the fate of PSL matches planned to take place in Lahore and Rawalpindi, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) convened an urgent meeting of all PSL franchise owners for Friday at 3 p.m.

The PSL 8 matches, which are slated to be played in Rawalpindi and Lahore, were discussed during the meeting via video conference call. The development has been confirmed by a PCB spokesperson.

The PCB has reportedly been asked for PKR 500 million by the interim Punjab government in order to hold the matches in Lahore and Rawalpindi. The board has already given the Punjab government PKR 50 million for food expenses.

The remaining PKR 450 million are currently being sought by the provincial government for illumination and security objectives. If the matches are moved to Karachi, PCB won’t be responsible for the aforementioned costs.

The board is currently considering moving the Punjab leg of PSL 8 to Karachi Pakistan order to save these costs. If the PCB agrees to proceed with the matches in Punjab, sources further stated that the emergency meeting will decide who will be responsible for paying these costs.
